Stewart-Marchman
Center's Flagler Recovery Center has the right people, the
right setting and the right treatment tools to establish a firm
foundation in recovery for you or your loved one. Set in rural Flagler
County, just north of Daytona Beach, the Flagler Recovery Center
is a small program - only 8 beds - where personal attention and
a consistent focus on recovery are the hallmarks of care.
OUR
PEOPLE:
Doug
Davies, M.D., Medical Director: Dr. Davies, a board
certified addictionologist, has been engaged full time in
the practice of addiction medicine for more than six years.
He stresses that recovery is a life long process. "You
will never cure it …. But you can arrest it and lock it
down. Your life will get better if you truly effectively
treat an addiction problem."

Sonny
Donaldson, MA, MSW, CAP, LCSW, Program Director:
Sonny coordinates all services at the Flagler Recovery Center.
In addition to the Residential program, he also manages the
detoxification, outpatient and continuing care services operated
at the Center. "Helping people with substance abuse
problems has been my passion for 27 years. I am privileged
to be a part of a team that strives to treat patients and
their families with dignity and respect while attempting to
resolve this serious medical issue."

Linton, CAP, Primary Counselor: . Carleto will share
his nearly two decades of counseling experience with you. His
focus is on developing a recovery plan and program that will
work for you. "I find that I use Gestalt therapy most
often because it is an experiential therapy stressing the here-and-now
awareness. It helps the residents in the role of unfinished
business from the past that prevents effective functioning in
the present." |

Recognizing
that some people enter treatment with substantial medical issues,
a registered nurse is on duty around-the-clock and a physician is
always on-site or on-call.
OUR
PLACE:
| The
Flagler Recovery Center is located near Palm Coast, Florida.
While within driving distance from Daytona Beach, Jacksonville,
Orlando, and Tampa, the site is secluded, providing a tranquil
place for focusing on recovery. At the same time the Center
is just minutes from the Atlantic coast and the freshwater springs
of Central Florida, both of which provide the opportunity for
recreational outings during treatment. |

OUR
"THINGS":
| As
a "State of the Art" addictions recovery program, we offer a
motivational approach to treatment, seeking to identify and
develop "the tipping point" for each individual where recovery
takes precedence over relapse. In addition, we utilize the variety
of medications now available to assist individuals in both achieving
and maintaining recovery. |

Finally, we
believe that recovery comes from developing new ways of thinking,
reacting and behaving. Our treatment program is geared to helping
residents develop and practice these new skills.
