William Chester Bell, MPA, CCJAP
Chief Executive Officer
Chet Bell
has worked in addiction treatment services in Volusia County since
1980. Chet came to SMC in 1989 and served for 16 years as Executive
Vice President prior to his promotion to CEO on January 1, 2005.
He is immediate past President of the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Association and is a founding board member of the Florida Association
of Drug Court Professionals. He is certified as an addiction counselor
and is a past President of Florida's Certification Board for Addictions
Professionals, where he was instrumental in the development of that
organization's criminal justice/addiction professional credential.
Locally, he serves on the Volusia/Flagler Coalition for the Homeless
Board of Directors. Chet is a member of the Florida Supreme Court's
Drug Court Task Force and has consulted extensively over the past
two decades as a trainer in the implementation of TASC and Drug
Court programs. His undergraduate degree is from Miami University
and master of public administration degree from the University of
Central Florida.
