Toni Marie Barrett, MA, CAP
Senior Vice President Programs
Toni Barrett
is originally from the State of New Hampshire. Her academic achievements
include a Bachelor of Science in Education from Keene State College
of the University of New Hampshire, 1974, and a Master of Arts in
Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College in Worcester,
Massachusetts, 1979. Ms. Barrett received her Certification as an
Addictions Professional in the State of Florida in 1987, and is
also certified through the International Certification Reciprocity
Consortium. She was previously certified as an additions professional
in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and licensed as a social worker
in the State of Massachusetts. In her professional career, Ms. Barrett
has served as a substance abuse counselor at Beech Hill Farm Hospital
in Dublin, N.H. from 1974 - 1976. Following this she worked for
Pioneer Healthcare, Inc., starting as a counselor in a 56-bed hospital
based addictions program in Worcester, Massachusetts, and progressing
to a Regional Clinical Supervisor with Pioneer from 1976 until 1980.
In May of 1980, Ms. Barrett became the Assistant Administrator of
Eagle Hill Rehabilitation Center, a private addictions treatment
facility in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. In 1982, she returned to Pioneer
Healthcare, Inc. as a Regional Clinical Supervisor, based in Florida,
and worked out of a contract unit locally at the former Daytona
Beach Community Hospital. She
was promoted in 1985 to V.P. of Clinical Programs and Quality Management,
and traveled extensively throughout the United States in development
of Pioneer hospital contract units for substance abuse, and also
in the development of free-standing facilities. Her responsibilities
included training, and assuring that Pioneer Healthcare was providing
quality programming to clients.
Currently, Ms.
Barrett is the Sr. V.P. of Programs for the Stewart-Marchman Center
overseeing the clinical operation and programming of all Center
Adult and Adolescent Components. Ms. Barrett is an active member
of the Juvenile Justice Board for Circuit 7, currently serving as
the vice-chair and the Juvenile Justice Council, where she serves
as chair of the client involvement committee. Ms. Barrett participates
in activities of the Juvenile Justice Association on a regular basis.
She is also active with the Childrens Constituency, the Department
of Juvenile Justice Provider Committee, a member of the planning
team for One Voice for Volusia, and process improvement teams for
the District Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health office. In addition,
she serves on several planning committees for District 12 related
to childrens and youth issues.
