I moved to Daytona three years ago following a messy divorce that left me devastated. Unfortunately, my new life and friends revolved around a social scene that included crack cocaine- and soon my scene was not social at all. I was arrested for possession and found myself facing a felony charge - a conviction would result in the loss of my job.

I was surprised when I was offered an opportunity to enter a treatment program rather than be prosecuted. The Anti Drug Initiative program was motivational and eye opening. I learned about my use and how it compared with others. I learned about change, and about how to change. Today, I am a year clean, and proud to be employed - in the same job! Thanks to my counselor at SMC, and the referral out of the courts, I have gained back my self-respect.
