I was admitted
to the Men's Intensive Residential Treatment program after 10 years
history of snorting cocaine pretty much every day. I had no time for
relationships, I was throwing my life away. My job was to deliver
cocaine and collect the money. Handling cocaine and cash placed my
life in jeopardy. I served time in prison at Riker's Island in New
York due to a cocaine charge.
Right now, I'm trying to get a new life. I've been out of treatment
for a year. It takes a while to get sober. As a result of my treatment,
I am convinced that I can no longer associate with old acquaintances.
I am learning how to communicate when I feel angry. I have returned
to school to obtain my GED and found a church to attend.
